Cooper Hawk – Accipiter cooperii

I went to Bombay Hook with some students today. On my way out of the neighborhood, I spotted this bird. They aren’t great pics but they do the job to ID the bird. The day at Bombay was fun and we saw tons of birds but no new ones for me. As I got home, my son was thrilled to show me the picture he had taken of a Cooper’s Hawk in OUR backyard! That’s always the way it goes. My son did get some great shots. I’m happy he got to be here to capture the moment.
