Eastern Wood Pewee – Contopus virens
These pictures are from my Sunday walk through White Clay Creek State Park. There is a lot more to this park that I ever thought. I will need to spend some more time investigating it. I saw several birds but there was a lot of foot traffic so I could not get the birds to settle down long enough get my camera on them.
I found the perfect spot near the creek to wait for birds to come to me. I had just gotten comfortable to wait, I had seen a wren, a hummingbird, and several other birds. This little guy sat long enough for me to take these pictures. No sooner had I gotten comfortable when my quiet was interrupted by hikers complete with a dog. Drat those hikers!!
