Sandhill Crane – Grus canadensis
We were in Idaho a couple of summers ago. I was determined to find some wild life to photograph. Our host told us to head out early in the morning to look for wildlife. Boy, was our host right. We saw moose, deer, and these beauties.
The sandhill crane has been on this Earth for a while – 10,000 million years! That’s ten times longer that humans.
There is not a big difference between the females and males of the species so these are probably one of each. They usually like to hang out in groups.
They were a wonderful site to see.
