Wild Turkey – Meleagris gallopavo

We spied this family as we were leaving Bombay Hook this weekend. They were in the road carefully picking their way across the road. Both mom and dad hurried the babies across before they disappeared into the brush.

While this family was in Delaware, I have caught turkeys in New Jersey, Connecticut, and even Utah.
